Billy Wayne Hopwood, 82, longtime resident of Holly Grove Road, died Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Marshall Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Reverend James Myers and Christopher Buckman officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M and Tuesday from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home. The Marshall County native was the son of the late A.C. Hopwood and Bessie Hall Hopwood. Mr. Hopwood was a retired truck driver for Home Supply Company for over 40 years and self-employed handyman. He was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who enjoyed farming. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Lewisburg. Survivors include his wife, whom he married September 20, 1958, Maggie Lee Holt Hopwood of Lewisburg; children, Janice Hopwood (Glenn) Buckman of Chapel Hill; Mikael Holt Hopwood of Lewisburg; Steven Hopwood of Lewisburg; Vonda (Jack Hale) Spain of Nashville; daughter-in-law, Teresa Hopwood of Lewisburg; brother, Clay (Judy) Hopwood of Santa Fe; sister, Dot Owens of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Kristan King; Kamron Hollingsworth; Tanner Hopwood; Maria Kate Hopwood; Haley Hopwood; Alanna Hopwood; Daniel Spain; great grandchildren, Gavin King; Landric Harmon; Kinley Hollingsworth; Hayden Spain; Christian Spain; Adam Spain; and Audrey Spain.Active pallbearers will be Kamron Hollingsworth, Brandon Masson, Steve McMillin, Tanner Hopwood, and Gary Hollingsworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Owens, Danny Owens, Daniel Spain, Anthony Poarch, and Quinten Clifford.
