View Funeral Webcast Billy Keith Martin, Sr., 91, retired Sergeant with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and resident of Columbia, died Monday, August 28, 2023, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Graymere Church of Christ with John Vaughan and Andrew Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Haynes Cemetery. Honors will be provided by Tennessee Highway Patrol Honor Guard. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the church. Born January 10, 1932, in Maury County, he was the son of the late Lexie Keith Martin and the late Lula Elizabeth Moore Martin. During his career with Tennessee Highway Patrol, he served mostly in Humphreys County. After his retirement, he moved back to Maury County. Mr. Martin enjoyed cooking, serving in various church events and benevolent work. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Martin was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, whom he married October 5, 1951, Mary Elizabeth Jones Martin of Columbia; daughter, Brenda (Robert) McClure of Columbia; son, Billy “Keith” (Rose) Martin, Jr. of Spring Hill; sister, Linda Weaver of Columbia; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ethan) Humphrey of Columbia; Shannon McClure of Columbia; Paul (Meghan) McClure of Columbia; great grandchildren, Henry Black, Emily Humphrey, Eric Humphrey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Martin. Tennessee Highway Patrol Honor Guard will severe as pallbearers.
