Billy Ray Hardison, Sr., 83, retired employee of Monsanto and resident of Cliff White Road, died Monday, September 3, 2018, at Maury Regional Medical Center.Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Macer and Brian Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Friday from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to South Gate Church of Christ, 2700 Pulaski Highway, Columbia, TN 38401 or Faith Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church, c/o Sue Campbell, 453 Due Lane, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born July 9, 1935 in Maury County, he was the son of the late John Turner Hardison and the late Mary Cothran Hardison. On December 25, 1954, he married Betty Faye Hargrove Hardison who preceded him in death January 30, 2006. Mr. Hardison was a 1954 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served in the Tennessee National Guard. He was employed over thirty years in the Maintenance Department of Monsanto. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping. He was a member of South Gate Church of Christ.Survivors include his daughter, Anita Hardison (Mike) Ervin of Columbia; sons, Michael (Yolanda) Hardison and Tim (Tammy) Hardison, both of Columbia; daughter-in-law, Sherry Hardison of Mt. Pleasant; brother, James (Patricia) Hardison of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Edna Hardison and Elizabeth “PeeWee” Hargrove, both of Columbia; grandchildren, Mikey Ervin, Christopher Hardison, Stephen (Kalli) Hardison, Andrew Hardison, Desiree Hardison (Mike) Lukens, Dustin Stevens (Tabitha) Hardison, Tyler Hardison, DeAnna Hardison; great grandchildren, Korbyn Ervin, Landon Ervin, Jaxon Ervin, Lilyann Lukens, Easton Lukens, Landon Brown, Sawyer Brown, Aubrey Jane Hardison; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray “Bubba” Hardison, Jr; brother, David Hardison; and sister, Mary Frances Carpenter.Active pallbearers will be Mikey Ervin, Christopher Hardison, Stephen Hardison, Andrew Hardison, Dustin Stevens Hardison, and Tyler Hardison. Honorary pallbearers will include retired employees of Monsanto.
