Billy Thomas Demastus

Billy Thomas Demastus, 91, retired employee of Tennessee Valley Authority for 50 years, died Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Mount Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Born February 15, 1928 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Ed Demastus and the late Carrie Hight Demastus. On February 6, 1947 he married, Frances Daniels Demastus who preceded him in death on January 1, 2018. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, birdwatching, gardening, and yard work. Mr. Demastus was a good and kind hearted man who always put others before himself. He was a member of the Glendale Methodist Church. He is survived by his son, Timothy Thomas Demastus; grandchildren, Timothy Robert Demastus, John William Demastus; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by four brothers; and two sisters.
