Billye Dean Reading Allen, 79, homemaker and resident of Ella West Circle in the Lynnville Community, died Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Richland Baptist Church, 10930 Columbia Highway Lynnville, TN, with Pastor Rick Bilyeu and Danny Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in her family cemetery on Ella West Circle. The family will visit with friends and family Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements and condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born February 2, 1940 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late H. C. Reading and the late Frances Jearlean O’Connor Reading. On June 2, 1958, she married Aubrey Earl “Cowboy” Allen who preceded her in death September 8, 2013. Earlier in life she was a waitress and had previously worked in food services for Magnolia Academy. Mrs. Allen was very devoted to her family and church. She was a member of Richland Baptist Church, where she was a former WMU Director, sang in the choir, taught ladies bible classes and children’s bible classes. Survivors include her daughter, Tonya (Darryl) Brown of Fayetteville; son, John Nugent (Jordan) Allen of Petersburg; sister, Peggy (Robert) Meaker of Thorndale, Texas; eleven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Billy “Skeeter” Allen; and sisters, Bobbye Thomas and Sandra Nell McLendon. Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
