Blake William Basler, 14, student at Culleoka Unit School, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at his residence on the Pulaski Highway. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Parrish officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Portland. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Blake was the son of Jeffrey Richard (Tabatha) Basler of Chapmansboro and Tanya Lee Eakes (Joe) Steele of Culleoka. He was a member of Colonial Meadows Church of God. In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters, Ashley Vanderpool, Suzanna Johnston; two brothers Blane Basler, Hunter Basler; three step-sisters, Britney Pitman, Bronte Steele, Amanda Steele; three step-brothers, Nicky Steele, Joey Steele, Chris Steele; grandparents, John and Connie Basler of Michigan, Gail Curtis of Nashville, Terry Eakes of Smyrna; and great-grandparents, Betty Basler of Michigan and Maurice and Vera Shanks of Michigan. Pallbearers will be Larry Troyer, Austin Craig, Austin Butler, Austin McKinney, Joshua Goldman, Luke Webb and Trevor Scott.
