ROBERT F. "BOB" JONES Robert Frederick "Bob" Jones, 78, retired self-employed manufacturing representative and resident of Downey Drive in Nashville, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Williamsport Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Jay Hoppus officiating with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 and VFW Firing Squad. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. in the parlor of Belle Meade United Methodist Church in Nashville and Sunday from 1:00 - 2:30 at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late George W. Jones and Ethel Bechtel Jones. He was a graduate of Marquette University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Jones served in the U. S. Navy and was a member of Belle Meade United Methodist Church in Nashville. Survivors include his wife, McLin Moore Jones of Nashville; one son, Robert Frederick (Karen) Jones, Jr. of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth (Douglas) Atler of Mountain View, California; sister-in-law, Mrs. Joe Anne Moore of Columbia; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ed Sanders, Earl Moore, Chris Handley, Billy Glynne Rummage, Al Knott, Daryl Brown, Willis E. "Sonny" Jones, Jr., and Steven Gwin. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the USS Laffey Association.
