Bobby Blue Baker

Bobby Blue Baker, 75, retired employee of Union Carbide and resident of Morningside Lane, died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 6:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. William Wray officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Limestone County, Alabama, he was the son of the late Marvin D. Baker and the late Eleander Z. Davis Baker. Mr. Baker was a 1959 graduate of Columbia Central High School. He enjoyed searching for treasures at yard sales, garage sales and flea markets. He had attended Philippi Church of Christ. Survivors include his daughter, Suzanne Goble of Columbia; son, Edwin Dennis Baker of Columbia; sister-in-law, Sarah Mildred Baker of Columbia; grandchildren, Terry (Laura) Baker of Hampshire; Ashley (Rob) Montgomery, Michael (Erin) Baker, Dan Riccie Goble, and Emily Carroll Goble, all of Columbia; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Lawrence "Tiny" Baker.
