Bobby Gene Rochelle, 87, owner of Rochelle Sheet Metal and resident of Hampton Road, died Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Andrew Phillips and Tony Grooms officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. Born December 11, 1931 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Howard P. Rochelle, Sr. and the late Gladys Odom Rochelle. He married Era Mae Gregg Rochelle who preceded him in death November 2, 2007. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Rochelle was a hard worker, loved farming, driving his truck and running his sheet metal business. He was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include his sisters, Sue Reynolds of Dallas, Texas; Bonnie Bassham of Columiba; Linda Grooms of Columbia; Beverly (Tony) Grooms of Columbia; Doris (David) Brodrick of Martin; Evelyn (James) Burgett of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Ralph Rochelle of Columbia; sister-in-law, Patricia Rochelle; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Ollie Belle Rochelle; sisters, Mary Katherine Rochelle Pullen, Sara Walker; and brothers, Ernest Rochelle, and Howard P. Rochelle, Jr. Active pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Allen and Ann Hinson.
