Mr. Boyce Harold "Buck" Price, 84, retired general contractor and resident of South Main Street, died Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango and Rev. Nathan Alton officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4- 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 109 East 17th Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Lawrence County native was the son of the late Homer Scott Price and Bessie Kate Taylor Price. On October 25, 1945 he married Elsie Marie Taylor in a military wedding at Crane Naval Base in Indiana where they both were stationed at the time. Mr. Price served in the United States Navy during World War II. He owned and operated B.H. Price Construction Company. He worked with Habitat for Humanity and did foreign missionary work in Honduras and the Ivory Coast. He was a member of the American Legion and was a Gideon officer. Mr. Price was a member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist and served as a Deacon there from 1954 until the present time. In addition to his wife of 60 years, Elsie Taylor Price of Columbia, he is also survived by two daughters, Sandra Gill of Columbia, Sheryl Sparkman of Mira Loma, California; two sons, John D. (Carolyn) Price of Culleoka, Jack H. (Kathy) Price of Columbia; one sister, Mildred Lovett of Columbia; one brother James C. (Virginia) Price of Columbia; two sisters-in-law Celene Price of Tullahoma, Mary Price of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; twelve grandchildren, Jeffrey Craig, Steven Craig, Amanda Fulbright, Jennifer Price, Kristen (Robert) Thompson, Kamiko (Steven) Sullivan, Lindsey Sparkman, Matthew Sparkman, Kim (Dwight) Woodard, Nathaniel Chapman, Mackenzie (Terry) Skiles, Meghan (Zack) Tate; fourteen great-grandchildren, Christopher Craig, Amanda Craig, Ashley Craig, Amy Craig, Stephanie Cook, Michael Hood, Amy E. Craig, Nathan Craig, Katherine Marie Fulbright, Savana Marie Thompson, Abigail Leann Sullivan, Taylor Kay Sparkman, Autumn Paige Woodard, Linley Kate Skiles; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Scott Price and David R. Price; and one sister, Edna Ruth Hart. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Craig, Steven Craig, Mark Boshers, Tim Creel, Ronnie Burns and Marion Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be the Board of Deacons and the men of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
