View Funeral WebcastBrownie Lucille Hardison Attkisson, 84, retired from Columbia Power & Water System and former long-time resident of Third Avenue, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center.Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols with Wayne B. Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Reece Hardison and Naomi Brown Hardison. She was a 1943 graduate of Columbia Central High School and a graduate of Columbia Business College. Mrs. Attkisson was a member of Northview Church of Christ.Survivors include a daughter, Gail Johnson of Columbia; sons, Ronnie G. (Jane) Attkisson and Steve (Dawn) Attkisson, both of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Eugenia Harmon of Columbia; brother, Jerry Hardison of Columbia; sister-in-law, Cora Hardison of Randallstown, Maryland; grandchildren, Melissa (Tracey) Myatt, Stacy Johnson, Shane Johnson, Kim Attkisson, Justin Attkisson, Jessie (Benton) Alexander, Jenny (Kenny) Kelley, Brandon Attkisson, Samantha (Ty) Howard, Hope Edwards, Kyle Edwards; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Dianne Attkisson; sisters, Lottie Cheek and Lurleen Hurley; and a brother, Harlan Hardison. Active pallbearers are her nephews. Honorary pallbearers include employees and retired employees of Columbia Power & Water System and members of Northview Church of Christ.
