Funeral services for Trooper Calvin Wayne Jenks, 24, two-year veteran of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Graymere Church of Christ with Ricky Clay and Michael Whitworth officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday after 12:00 Noon at Graymere Church of Christ. Burial will be in Pleasant Mount Cemetery with full honors provided by the Tennessee Highway Patrol Honor Guard. A native of Lansing, Michigan, he moved to the Culleoka Community in Maury County in 1989. He was a member of the graduating class of 2000 at Culleoka High School and was a four-year starter on the Culleoka Warriors Baseball Team. Trooper Jenks was a member of Culleoka Church of Christ. His duties began in the 7th District of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, headquartered in Lawrenceburg. He transferred to the 4th District in Memphis in July, 2006. An active outdoorsman, he loved hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was married September 27, 2006 to the former Sarah Elizabeth Hayes, who survives. Other survivors include his mother, Jane (Sean) Whitaker of Culleoka; his father, Norman (Carla) Jenks of Thompson Station; four brothers, Andrew Jenks of Lynnville, Ryan Jenks of Culleoka, Daniel Thompson of Mt. Pleasant, and Corey Jenks of Thompson Station; a sister, Bridget Thompson of Thompson Station; father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Sarah Hayes of Columbia; maternal grandmother, Barbara Piper of Perry, Michigan; maternal grandfather, Gordon Piper of East Lansing, Michigan; paternal grandmother, Sally Jenks of Lansing, Michigan; grandparents, Mildred and Wayne Hartsfield of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Rachel Hayes and Martha Hayes, both of Culleoka; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.The Tennessee Highway Patrol Honor Guard will serve as active pallbearers.Honorary pallbearers include Andrew Jenks, Ryan Jenks, Daniel Thompson, Adam Lynn, Jeff Clardy, Scott Senter, Matt Senter, Roscoe Voss, Wesley Derryberry, and K.
