CALVIN C. JOHNSON Calvin Coolidge Johnson, 77, retired employee of Monsanto and resident of Pleasant Drive, died Monday, January 5, 2004, at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brian Wiesinger officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Garden of Hope. The family will visit with friends from 4:00 - 800 P.M. Tuesday with a Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1015, Columbia, TN 38402, American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720 or the American Heart Society, c/o Martha McKennon, P. O. Box 1148, Columbia, TN 38402. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the son of the late Finis Ewing Johnson and Fannie Bell Davis Johnson. He retired from Monsanto after forty-two years, was a fifty-year Mason member of Columbia Lodge #31, and an avid bowler. He was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Patty Sweeney Johnson of Columbia; four daughters, Patsy (Rick) Coleman, Brenda (Eddie) Harris, Debbie (Terry) Sanders and Lisa (Bobby) Tubville, all of Columbia; nine grandchildren, Kim Coleman (Duke) Morgan, Sherill Rummage, Steve Black, Angie Tubville, Danny (Tammy) Coleman, Suzanne (Chuck) Willis, Lori Harris (Jeff) Mitchell, Gary (Windy) Sanders, and Brett Harris; and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Monsanto Retirees, friends at Parkway Lanes, Medical Staff at Centennial Medical Center, Nurses and Staff of Life Care Center; and a special thanks to Tennessee Oncology Staff and Dr. Anthony Greco.
