Mr. Calvin A. Lindsey Mr. Calvin Andrew Lindsey, 84, retired salesman for Burt Brothers Furniture Company for 28 years and a resident of Adair Avenue, died Friday, May 28, 2004 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Windell Moore and Rev. Philip Lawson officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Hickman County native was the son of the late Frank Lindsey and Fannie Blankinship Lindsey. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy. Mr. Lindsey served 3 and é years in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II, spending most of his time in England, and was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19 for more than 50 years. He worked for the Tennessee Knitting Mills several years and the Tennessee Department of Labor prior to his association with Burt Brothers. Survivors include a sister, Doris Church of Columbia; two brothers, Ted (Virginia) Lindsey and Claudie Ray Lindsey of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Helen Louise Lindsey of Columbia; a special family friend, Charles Ward of Columbia; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Lois Young, Bertie Bibb, Thelma Lindsey, Kathrine Lindsey and seven brothers, Paul Lindsey, Leon Lindsey, Hubert Lindsey, Elmer Lindsey, Wallace Lindsey, Clyde Lindsey and Robert Lindsey. Active pallbearers are Darrell Brown, Billy Ray King, Ricky Graham, Willard Temes, Charles Clark and Charles Ward. Honorary pallbearers include Chuck Bailey, James Clark, Dr. Gaylon Harris, Dr. James Barr, Eugene Goodwin and his Sunday School Class at the Church of God of Prophecy.
