View Funeral Webcast View Video Tribute Calvin Robert Collins, 90, retired employee of Hooker Chemical Company and resident of Spring Hill, died Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Peery officiating. Burial will follow in Knob Creek Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. Born January 26, 1929, in Limestone, Alabama, he was the son of the late James A. Collins and the late Nora Melvina Scroggins Collins. In 1953, he married Lennie Sullivan Collins who preceded him in death March 3, 2016. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Collins enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture. He was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Diane Collins of Columbia; daughter-in-law, Linda Stephens Collins of Decatur, Alabama; grandson, Brian (Amanda) Collins of Zambia, Africa; granddaughter, Shannon (Mike) Allred of Decatur, Alabama; great granddaughters, Zoie Collins, Zanna Collins, Zimeri Collins, and Zadie Collins all of Zambia, Africa; Ella Kate Allred of Decatur, Alabama; sister, Ella Lanius of Mt. Pleasant; and sister-in-law, Pauline Kelley of Columbia. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Dewayne Collins; sisters, Nora Stanfill, Lula Mae Ervin; brother, Richard Collins; and numerous half brothers and sisters. Active pallbearers will be Chris Dodson, Timmy Collins, Tommy Stanfill, David Stanfill, Joey Ervin, Wayne Harvey, Jimmy Dale, and Randy Davidson. Honorary pallbearers include Pansey and Mike Saylor, Mike Dooley, and Donna Hall.
