View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Carl Wayne Stanfill, 83, a resident of Columbia, died Friday, May 28, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John “Bubba” Stanfill officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 12 noon until time of services at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born February 22, 1938 in Maury County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Hubert Stanfill and the late Gladys Brady Stanfill. He was married to Mary Frances Stanfill who preceded him death on June 18, 2016. Mr. Stanfill was a retired heavy equipment operator for the City of Columbia and at one time was a logger for the TVA. He also was an avid coon hunter and enjoyed collecting Hawkbill knives. Mr. Stanfill was a member of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include his children, Carlene (Mark) Landers of Columbia, Tim Stanfill of Columbia, and Beverly Calvert of Culleoka; step-children, Vicki (Chris) Lynn of Santa Fe and Jeannie (Tim) Laws of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Jesse Hughes (Adrienne Staggs mother of Huston), Cameron Calvert, Carley (Zach) Burton, Precinda Mendes, Jo Jo (Kaity Dickinson) Mendes, Brandi Rowland, Billy Peden, Destiny (Dakota Adair) Laws, Chase (Kaylee) Laws; great-grandchildren, Peyton Calvert, Brady Calvert, Huston Hughes, Lola Burton, Marleigh Adair, Mila Rose Burton and Zoey Sisk. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Janice Potts Stanfill; his daughter, Charlene Stanfill; brothers, Paul Stanfill, Richard Stanfill and Thomas Stanfill; sisters, Lucille Potts, Betty Mae Lewis and Rebecca Pigg. Active pallbearers will be Jamie Smithson, Heath Pigg, Jesse Hughes, Jo Jo Mendes, Jason Burns, Chris Clark, Mark Landers and Michael Brady.
