Video memories of Carlton Carlton Park Mr. Carlton Denham Park, 92, resident of N. Laurel Circle, died Monday, March 14, 2005 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon, Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Mike Kessler officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8p.m at the funeral home. He was a 1931 graduate of Central High School. Mr. Park was retired as Post Master of the Columbia Post Office where he had been employed for forty-three years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and served as a Boy Scout leader. He was a member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Mary Crews Park of Columbia; one daughter, Nancy Park (Paul) Morrow of Benton, Kentucky; one sister, Helene (M.M.) Hunt of Birmingham, Alabama; four grandchildren, Stephanie Morrow (Greg) Reynolds of Calvert City, Kentucky, John W. (LuAnn) Park of Houston, Texas, Melanie (David) Wright of Denver, Colorado, David (Judi) Park of Sarasota, Florida; twelve great-grandchildren; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by a son, John William Park and a granddaughter, Stacey Morrow Lockhart. Pallbearers will be Kevin Reynolds, Parker Lockhart, John Park, Jerry Park, Gary Abernathy, J.B. Long, Bob Martin and Bill Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Compton, James Allen, Harry Mitchell, Dick Stowers, Ben Hancock, Kenneth Cherry, Jack Journey and Elders and Deacons of West Seventh Street Church of Christ.
