Caroline Margaret Dietrich Godson (aka Carolyn), 94, former resident of Harris Street in Columbia, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016, in Humble, Texas.A graveside service will be held Tuesday August 30, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Polk Memorial Gardens with Pastor Curt Hoover officiating. Procession from Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home to Polk Memorial Gardens will begin at 10:30 AM. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born December 21, 1921 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Walter Dietrich and Caroline M. Dietrich. She was married to Hugh Michael Godson, former Chemical Engineer with Stauffer Chemical Company, who preceded her in death January 8, 1998. Survivors include her daughters, Susan and husband Kenneth Trzecki of Humble, TX, and Wendy Hempel of Bemidji, MN; son, Michael and wife Sylvia of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Kristen and husband Luke Henderson, Sarah Velasco, Michael Godson, James Godson, Matthew Godson; and great-grandchildren: Gretchen Henderson and George Henderson.
