Carolyn Anita Reyna

Carolyn Anita Reyna passed away peacefully at her home Friday, August 9 in Cedar Park, TX. Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Columbia, TN, Monday, August 19, at 10:30 a.m. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.  Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Anita was born in Hopkinsville, KY on April 28, 1934, to Preston and Lavalla Mitchell.  Her childhood and high school years were spent in the Nashville, TN area.  She graduated from the University of Oklahoma and raised a family as a marine wife before she became an office manager and bookkeeper in the Franklin, TN area, as well as Savannah and Jackson, GA.  Known too many as ‘Sassy’ (her CB handle), Anita loved to spend time with family (and pets), garden and sew.  She even made antebellum dresses for the Franklin Historical Society while she volunteered there.  Later in life, she moved to Jackson, GA, and then Brenham, TX to be close to her children. Anita is survived by her son Erick Reyna and wife Katherine; daughter Connie Baker; and daughter Liz Williams and husband Brandon; grandchildren Spencer, Heidi, Parker, Kyla, Reagan and Brynn; and great grandchildren Olivia and Preston.
