View Funeral WebcastView Video Tribute Mrs. Carolyn Joyce Evans Knox, 67, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at her residence in Franklin. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at Brentwood Baptist Church, 7777 Concord Rd., Brentwood, TN 37027. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Dr. Michael L. Glenn officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements. She graduated with an Associates Degree from DeKalb Junior College. For the last thirteen years she lovingly served others through her gift of catering with her business "All Occasion Catering, Inc.". Her life was spent devoted to caring for others, in particular her children and grandchildren. She taught them all what it meant to love others well. Mrs. Knox was a member of Brentwood Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband R. Joe Knox of Franklin, whom she married on August 29, 1970; daughter, Melissa (B.J.) Proffitt of Franklin; sons, Robert (Sheila) Knox of Spring Hill, Joe (Cary) Knox of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Allison Knox, Hailey Knox, Preston Knox, Carsyn Proffitt, Kailyn Proffitt; and brothers, Marty (Janet) Evans of Chicago, Il and Wilson (Popie) Evans of San Antonio, Texas. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
