Carter B. “C.B.” Moore, 94, retired pharmacist and resident of Alicia Lane, died Monday, January 7, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with David Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 4:00 P.M. and Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Born August 26, 1924 in Lynnville, he was the son of the late Will Blackburn Moore and the late Lillian Bailey Moore. Mr. Moore was a 1942 graduate of Culleoka High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee in 1950. Mr. Moore enlisted in the U. S. Army on March 10, 1943 and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant on January 16, 1946. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Infantry of Patton’s Third Army and was awarded four campaign ribbons and a bronze star. Mr. Moore began his fifty-plus years pharmacist career at Reynolds Drug Store for many years prior to opening Moore & Daniel Pharmacy with his friend Wilson Daniel. Survivors include his wife of fifty years whom he married November 28, 1968, Elizabeth Payne Moore of Columbia; nephews, Jim (Cathy) Stoltz and David (Cindy) Stoltz, both of Culleoka; and great nephews, Chris (Stephanie) Stoltz, Carter Stoltz, and Charlie Stoltz. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Stoltz. Pallbearers will be Jim Stoltz, David Stoltz, Ben Worley, Layne Worley, Wilson Daniel, Marvin Bailey, and Ray Holden.
