Charlene Potts Miller, 65, retired employee of Union Carbide and resident of Highland Avenue, died Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Timmy Golden officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. Born August 16, 1952 in Maury County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Hilburn Potts and the late Fannie Bell Morton Potts. She enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and watching soap operas. Survivors include her children, Rhonda (Chuck) Maloney of Florida; Tammy (Scott) Hardin of Shelbyville; and Kimberly Miller of Columbia; grandchildren, Cody King; Shelby Jones; Brooke Thomason; Brian Thomason; Brexton Miller; DeShawn Hardin; Davante Webster; and Breyana Miller; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Butler of Columbia; Mary McClanahan of Santa Fe; Catherine (Lee) Krenze of Columbia; Wanda Morris of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Pratt; Effie Black; and Betty Jean Mearse.Active pallbearers will be Brian Thomason, Scott Hardin, Timmy Black, Michael Webb, Cory Gaskey, Frank Jackson, and Brexton Miller.
