View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Ida Charlene Stanfill Brady, 92, resident of Thomas Avenue, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Ascension St. Thomas Midtown. Funeral services for Mrs. Brady will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 pm. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family requests that masks be worn and CDC guidelines regarding social distancing be followed. Born February 4, 1929 in the Greenfield Bend community, Charlene was the daughter of the late Jack Stanfill and the late Ruby Mayfield Stanfill. She attended Columbia Central High School. She married Frances Eugene Brady in 1947, who preceded her in death on March 12, 1995. Together they had a daughter, Janice Brady Zimmerman, who also preceded her in death on January 19, 2009. Charlene, or “Nanny” as she was lovingly called by family, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She attended Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include: her son-in-law Dr. Carl (Elaine) Zimmerman of Nashville, grandsons Dr. Geoffrey (Lisa) Zimmerman of Houston, Texas and Philip (Dr. Gretchen) Zimmerman of Nashville, Dale Laurence of Nashville, Erin (Dr. Thomas) Koshut of Huntsville, Alabama, and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Philip Zimmerman, Geoffrey Zimmerman, John Neelley, James Neelley, Jeff Stephens, Philip Stephens, and Thomas Koshut. Honorary pallbearers will be Helen Hardison, Dale Laurence, and Dr. Bob Graham.
