MR. CHARLES BLACKBURN Mr. Charles Francis Blackburn, 62, retired welder and resident of East Seventeenth Street, died Monday, September 22, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M., Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will be in Scribners Mill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 3:00 P.M. and Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Lester Francis Blackburn and Frances Fox Blackburn. He retired from Columbia Machine Works in November of 1999 after thirty-six years of service. He was an avid camper, fisherman and woodworker. He was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant. Survivors include his wife of forty-six years, Eleanor Marie Potts Blackburn of Columbia; one daughter, Tiffany Marie Blackburn of Murfreesboro; three sons, Ricky (Connie) Blackburn, Micky (Lesa) Blackburn both of Columbia and Todd (Angie) Blackburn of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Jerry (Margaret) Blackburn of Columbia; three granddaughters, Kimberly Ann Blackburn, Brittany Danielle Blackburn, Kari Nichole Blackburn all of Columbia; one grandson, Jonathan Charles Blackburn of Murfreesboro; three step-granddaughters, Ashley Warren, Brandy Warren both of Columbia, Erin Hollis of Mt. Pleasant; one step-grandson, Cody Hollis of Mt. Pleasant; one great-grandson, Hayden Lee Lovely of Columbia; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Young, Margaret (Richard) Yates both of Columbia; one brother-in-law, Oley (Linda) Potts of Houston, Texas; three aunts; two uncles; two nieces; and three great-nephews. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Holly Nicholle Blackburn. Pallbearers will be Joe Bishop, Bobby Fox, Charles Southern, Doug Johnson, Hackney Thomason, Michael Harris and Richard Yates, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Kelley, Dr. Amit Choksi, Dr. John Worthman, Dr. C.H. Jameson, Dr. Mark Messenger, Dr. Stephen Woodley, Shirley Fox, Margaret Johnson, Tim Lunn, Marsha Lunn, Tom Tyler, Edie Tyler, Carl Brooks, Debbie Riddle, Christy Beck and past & present employees of Columbia Machine Works.
