View Funeral WebcastCharles Edwin Daniels, 73, retired security guard with Allied Security and former longtime resident of Kinzer Lane, died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Gibsonville Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Claude Thomas Daniels, Sr. and the late Gracie Etta Clifton Daniels. On June 30, 1967 he married Martha "Tillie" Derryberry Daniels who preceded him in death February 8, 2007. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. Mr. Daniels was employed as a sewing machine mechanic at Publix Shirt Factory for over thirty years. He enjoyed race cars, working on cars, and gardening. He was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, Jeff (Angela) Daniels of Lynnville; step-son, Mike (Pam) Haley of Dallas, TX; grandsons, Tony (Miranda) Daniels of Pulaski; Seth Daniels of Lynnville; sisters, Wilma Oliver and Margaret Petty, both of Columbia; brother, Perry (Wilma Lee) Daniels of Columbia; brothers-in-law, R. H. Polk of Knoxville; Jimmy (Nancy) Derryberry of Hampshire; sister-in-law, Ruby Lovell of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Hill and Juanita Polk; and two brothers, Claude Thomas Daniels, Jr. and James Wayne Daniels. Active pallbearers will be Tony Daniels, Seth Daniels, Danny Oliver, Tony Oliver, Timmy Oliver, Ricky Haskins, Allison Lovell, and Zach Lovell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Derryberry, Perry Daniels, and former co-workers at Publix Shirt Company.
