View Funeral WebcastMr. Charles Edward Hearod, Sr., 84, resident of Phinney Murphy Rd., died Monday, March 30, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Telford Tharp officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Eaton, Tennessee native was the son of the late Jim Hearod and Naomi Doss Hearod. He was married for 31 years to Dorothy Evans Hearod who preceded him in death in 1997. He was a self-employed painter and former truck driver. Mr. Hearod was of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by six children, Patricia (Don) Pruitt of Culleoka, Debra (Bryan) Trahan of Columbia, Kathy (Thomas) Wrathers of Florence, Alabama, Elizabeth Hearod of Dyersburg, Kathy Sue Hearod of New Port Richey, Florida, Charles (Pam) Hearod, Jr. of Dyersburg; three step-children, Judy Palmer, Susie Palmer, Jimmy Matlock all of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren, Michael Pruitt, Candy Roberts, Tammy Richard, Wendy King, Brenda Boudion, Jeremy Hearod, Amber Hearod, Alicia Hearod; twelve great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Hood and the mother of his three eldest children, Viola Cunningham. Friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.
