Video memories of Charles LovelessMr. Charles Franklin Loveless, 60, professor of English at the University of West Alabama and resident of Livingston, Alabama, died Saturday, February 12, 2005 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Pastor Russell Ward and Dr. Roy Underwood officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Ruby Pickens Tartt Public Library, P. O. Drawer U, Livingston, Alabama 35470. The Maury County native was a 1962 graduate of Columbia Central High School He received his undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University and earned a Master of Arts Degree from Florida State University. He served in the U. S. Army including a tour of duty in Vietnam during which time he was awarded the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge and two Purple Hearts. Survivors include his mother, Bertha Viola Scholze Loveless of Columbia; three brothers, Joe C. Loveless, III of Columbia, Jerry A. (Susan) Loveless of Nolensville and Robert G. Loveless of Columbia; three aunts, Layne Grinstead of Florida, Jacqueline Davis of Madison and Sadie R. Anderson of Mt. Pleasant; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Calvin Loveless, Jr. and two brothers, Mike Loveless and Donald "Tuffy" Loveless. Active pallbearers are Bill Davis, Jeff Condit, Joe Dew, Thomas McDaniel, Roy Underwood, Weldon Bowlin, Ken Tinsley, Keith Bullock and Alan Brown. Honorary pallbearers include faculty and staff of the University of West Alabama and members of the Livingston Golf and Country Club.
