Mr. Charles B. Moore, Sr., 76, retired dozier operator for Maury County Landfill and resident of East 16th Street, died Friday, July 11, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Tony Ayers officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Maury County native was the son of the late Charles Zopher Moore and Gladys Cummings Moore Sutton. He was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Kay Mooningham Smith Moore of Columbia;daughters, Teresa Pugh of Lawrenceburg, Kila (Doug) Sands of Port St. Johns, Florida, Lisa Watts of Columbia, Lori (Craig) Makey of Titusville, Florida; sons, Charles B. (Jennifer) "Chuck" Moore, Jr. of Columbia; Raymond David Moore of Lawrenceburg; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Jean Kindell and a brother, Joe William Moore. Active pallbearers are Jason Scott, Johnathan Watts, Brandon Watts, Jeffery Moore, Kevin Moore, Mark Friedman, and Adam Thomas. Honorary pallbearers include Bobby Hendrix, Carl Pigg, Jim Cosby, Robert Pruitt, Don Howell, Allen Elias, and his crew at Maury County Landfill.
