View Funeral Webcast Mr. Charles Robert Odom 84, of Columbia, died Monday November 28, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday December 1, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Anthony Atkisson, Tim Atkisson and Jordan Atkisson officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 12:00 until time of service at the funeral home. Born January 28, 1938 in Maury County to the late Olie Odom and the late Reba Estes Odom. Straight out of high school he joined the Navy and served four years. On May 9, 1959 he married Gladys Louella “Tiny” Scroggins Odom. and he owned Colonial Automotive for 62 years. He loved hunting, fishing, farming, and racing. He also loved restoring old antique Fords, and spending time with his family. Charles was preceeded in death by his parents, his son Chuck Odom, three grandsons; Robbie Odom,Steffan Graves, and Halen Odom, brothers Cleveland Odom, Malcom Ray “Gabby” Odom, Terry “Bones” Odom, Oleen Odom, and sister Sara Jenkins. Survivors include include his wife Gladys, his daughter Tina (Tim) Atkisson, his son Guy (Julie) Odom, grandchildren Anthony (Emily) Atkisson, Christie (Austin) Brown, Andrew (Amy) Atkisson, Jordan (Alyssa) Atkisson, nine great grandchildren, his sister, Jeweldean (Larry) Brown, Gayle Powell, Peggy Garrett, brothers Larry Odom, daughter-in-law Penny Odom, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will include Guy Odom, Steve Odom, Cody Odom, Bruce Odom, Justin Odom, Anthony Atkisson, Andrew Atkisson, Austin Brown, and Adam Crowell. Honorary Pallbearers will be the employees of Colonial Automotive.
