Charles Ray Russell

May 25, 1942 — October 2, 2005

Mr. Charles Ray Russell, 63, brick mason, former employee of Lovell Masonry, and resident of Granada Drive, died Monday, October 3, 2005, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Vernon Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery with military honors provided by Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late James Garfield Russell and Vica Elizabeth Taylor Russell. He was a graduate of Hay Long High School and served in the U. S. Army. Survivors include special friend, Sue Sullivan of Columbia; two sons, Michael Ray Russell and Randy Douglas Russell, both of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Nathan Ray Russell and Joshua Douglas Russell; one sister, Helen Linam of Murfreesboro; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Douglas Russell, James Russell, Jack Russell; and one sister, Anna Lou Lovell. Pallbearers will be Michael Russell, Randy Russell, Norman Parks, Keith Lyons, Jeff Russell, David Osbern, Levi Tidwell, Stephen Lovell, Jim Russell, and Rodger Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Pogue, Bill Pogue, Bobby Jacobs, Sonny Smith, and Bill Stewart.
