Charlie Hence Parker

Mr. Charlie Hence Parker, 81, retired from Smith Trucking, died Tuesday, November 11, 2009 at his residence on Baptist Church Road in Culleoka. A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Arch Warren officiating. Burial will be in Zion Churchyard at a later date. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3 - 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Mid-Tenn, 4205 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 216, Nashville, TN 37215. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Dickson County native was the son of the late Fred L. Parker and Roxie Ferguson Parker. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for Smith Trucking Company. He was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Myra W. Fleming Parker of Culleoka; two daughters, Beth Towery of Brentwood, Ann (Robert) Davidson of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Timmy Cummings of Culleoka, Michelle Towery and Michael Towery both of Brentwood; one great-grandchild, Chesley Cummings of Lynnville; brother, Jim (Dee) Parker of Centerville; and one sister, Ruby Nell (Ray) Baker of Dickson. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Harley Parker, a sister, Ruth Campbell and brother, Ernest Parker.
