Charlie Steward Mr. Charles David "Charlie" Steward, 48, retired employee of Lightning Lube and Columbia Battery, and resident of Cheairs Circle, died Monday, November 21, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4- 8 p.m. and Thursday after 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the loving son of Mrs.Una Mae Steward of Columbia and the late Frank Dumont Steward. He attended Maury County Schools and was a member of Williamsport Baptist Church. In addition to his mother survivors include his wife, Fran VanEst Steward of Columbia; two daughters, Mrs. Amanda Nicole (Jesse) Garrison of Columbia, Melissa Sue Bridgman of Primm Springs; one son, Jerry Joseph Bridgman of Goodlettsville; two grandchildren, Austin Michael Garrison, Landon Hunter-Lee Garrison; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret (Carl) Brooks of Columbia, Mrs. Deborah (Gary) Carroll of Hohenwald; two brothers, Marvin DeWayne Grissom of Mt. Pleasant, Billy Frank Steward of Shady Grove; and a special nephew, Mike VanEst. Pallbearers will be Mark Dawson, Gary Hamby, David Carroll, Chris Grissom, Eddie Brooks, Billy Barnes, David LaMay and Ronnie Thurman. Honorary pallbearers are members of Fruit of the Vine and employees of Lightning Lube.
