Charline Fowler Massey Gossett, 83, retired cafeteria manager for Riverside Elementary School and longtime resident of Danbury Drive, died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at South Gate Church of Christ with Joe Macer and Bill McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with John Thomas officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichol Funeral Home and Wednesday from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. at the church. The Davidson County native was the daughter of the late Charles Wilber Fowler and Emmie Potts Fowler. She was first married to Eugene Austin Massey who died September 30, 1982 and later married James Edward Gossett who also preceded her in death January 6, 2009. She was a 1950 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She was employed with the Maury County Board of Education for twenty-five years at Riverside Elementary School cafeteria. Mrs. Gossett was a twenty-two year volunteer with Maury Regional Auxiliary. She was a member of South Gate Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Sherrie (Tommy) Inman of Decatur, Alabama; step-daughter, Kay Goehler of St. Louis, Missouri; sons, John (Debbie) Massey of Columbia; Tim (Carol) Massey of Hixson; grandsons, Ryan (Angie) Massey, Corey (Marisa) Massey, Joshua (Claire) Massey, Jordon (Elizabeth) Massey, Christopher Inman, Austin Inman; great grandchildren, John Ryan Massey, Tucker Massey, Maclyn Massey, Jayden Massey, Alyana Massey, Henry Massey, Sawyer Massey; and niece, Cynthia Petty of Mesquite, Texas. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Shelton Fowler. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Glenn Neathery, Mattie Shannon, Carolyn Stacey, Sue Voss, Judy Shackelford, Linda Rochelle, Dr. Belinda Bart and nursing staff, South Gate Church of Christ Ladies' Bible Class, deacons and elders of South Gate Church of Christ, and members of Columbia Central High School Class of 1950.
