Charlotte Lee Stallings Jones

Charlotte Lee Stallings Jones, 89, retired sales clerk for Rite Aid, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at her residence on Bond Street in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Frank Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Born August 21, 1927 in Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late William Everett Stallings and the late Blanche Juanita Fields Stallings. On May 8, 1946, she married Chester Herbert Jones who preceded her in death October 15, 1977. She was an avid photographer and enjoyed reading. Mrs. Jones was a member of Mt. Pleasant First Baptist Church, where she was in the Esther Ruth Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughters, Linda Faye Jones of Mt. Pleasant; Carolyn Hughes of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Kristin (Jerry) Pruitt of Manchester; Brandi (Daniel) Reese of Lynchburg; great grandchildren, Madison Pruitt, Avery Pruitt, Jaxon Pruitt, Kinsley Pruitt, Isaiah Reese, Elijah Reese, and Ryleigh Reese; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, David Chester Jones; and brothers, J.W. Stallings, Junior Stallings, and Dwight Stallings. Pallbearers will be Jerry Pruitt, Daniel Reese, Frank Jones, Jr., Ricky Jones, James Earl Jones, and Michael Anderson.
