View Funeral WebcastChristine Bishop Foster, 89, retired employee of Lasko Metal Company in Franklin, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at her residence on Ashwood Drive in Columbia.Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Kane officiating. Entombment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born July 14, 1926 in Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene "Bud" Bishop and Annie Mae Sullivan Bishop Brown. She enjoyed all music, especially gospel and country. Her favorite pastimes include growing flowers, fishing, and touring the countryside. She loved fireworks and Independence Day celebrations. Mrs. Foster was a highly respected former member of Woodmen of the World. She loved her dogs, Precious and Ace.Survivors include her husband whom she married January 1997, F.T. "Taylor" Foster of Columbia; children, Sandra Potts of Culleoka, Glenda (Jerry) Crumley of Culleoka, Janice Foster of Forney, Texas, Deborah (J.B.) Mangrum of Dickson; step-daughter, Pat (David) Presley of Spring Hill; sisters, Mary Lee (Fred) Vedder of Franklin, Marjorie (Don) Butterworth of Madison; grandchildren, Joel (Cindy) Potts, Kim Hardison, Chris Potts, Brian (Cassie) Potts, Rhonda (Joey) Davenport, Daryl (Kelly) Odom, Jay-Michael Mangrum, Joe (Leslie) Foster, Kendall (Rhonda) Foster, Kevin (Shiquella) Baird, Kurt Baird, Daphne (Mike) Adams; step-grandchildren, Amber Presley, Bethany Gordon; great grandchildren, Austin (Morgan) Potts, Levi Potts, Jayclyn Potts, Maranda Hardison, Zachary Hardison, Ashley Potts, Dylan Potts, Mackenzie Davenport, Keaton Davenport, Baylea Davenport, Savannah Connell, Reno Baird, Gunner Baird, Dominick Morgan, Michael Alan Potts, Andrew Potts, Brady Fuller, Kylie Foster, Dakota Foster; and great great grandchildren, Abby Jo Potts, Barrett Potts, Elyas Ryder Baird, Ariana Blaze Morgan, and Eva Marie Baird. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband of forty-five years, Joseph Lee Foster who died May 16, 1991; sons, Joseph Eugene "Pete" Foster who died July 7, 2006, Ronald Carden "Ronnie" Foster who died March 6, 1995; and brothers, Houston Bishop, James Bishop, and Ralph Bishop. Active pallbearers will be Chris Potts, Levi Potts, Zachary Hardison, Dylan Potts, Kurt Baird, and David Rochelle. Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Lucy Ledbetter and staff.
