Clarence Emery Weaver

Clarence Emery Weaver, 89, retired district manager for Western Auto and resident of Kedron Road, died Friday, February 22, 2019 at Poplar Estates. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Kenny McFarlen officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 22, 1929 in Giles County, he was the son of the late William Henry “Will” Weaver and the late Sallie Crossland Weaver. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Weaver enjoyed farming, his cars, and pick up trucks. Mr. Weaver enjoyed helping others and making people smile, he also loved to read his bible and was a member of New Lasea Church of Christ. Survivors include his daughters, Debbie (Daryl) Derryberry of Mt. Juliet; Tricia (Chris) Delaney of Old Hickory; sister, Nellie Weaver (Valton) Rummage of Columbia; brothers, Bill (Valree) Weaver of Woodbury; Jack (Faye) Weaver of Spring Hill; grandchildren, Wanda (Joey) Wilson, Shannon Derryberry; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Courtney, Joseph, and Skyy; and several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Vicki Clara Weaver; his siblings, Samuel Weaver, George (Nell) Weaver, Dock (Tennie) Weaver, Roy (Becky) Weaver, Hint Frierson Weaver, Eulala (Everett) Prestridge, Mary Kirk, Sara (Garland) Glenn, Jane Trimble, Neva Pearl (Dugin) Kincaid, Ola Mae (Ben) Andrews, Jr. Pallbearers will be Buddy Andrews, Jerry Kirk, James Prestridge, Mike Weaver, Jeff Weaver, and Mark Glenn.  Honorary pallbearers will include Terry Weaver, Wendell Weaver, Wayne, Dean, and Al Smith. The family would like to express a special thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Poplar Estates, The Gardens and Hospice Compassus.  Also, a special thanks to his nieces, Dana Smith and Freda Dean for all your love and support.
