Clarence Meadow White

Mr. Clarence Meadow White, 86, self-employed mechanic and resident of Westland, Michigan, died Friday, May 14, 2004 at Oakwood Hospital Annapolis Center in Wayne, Michigan. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Lynnwood Cemetery with Dr. Vance Hendrickson officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the son of the late Joseph Pitman White and Robbie Joe Allen White. He was first married to Minnie Irene Vick White who preceded him in death in 1973. He was a former co-owner of Tel-Godd Auto Parts and Service in Michigan. Mr. White served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a member of Sunset Church of Christ in Michigan. Survivors include his wife, Mattie Golden Dover White of Westland, Michigan; one daughter, Connie (Ivan) Brillhart of Riverview, Michigan; one son, Dale (Debbie) Dover of Allen, Texas; two brothers, Kenneth White of Nashville, Clayson (Thelma) White of Aiken, South Carolina; three sisters, Opal Connelly of Miami, Florida, Jewel (Odes) Kennedy of Marshall, Texas, Mary Jo (Ross) McGee of Columbia; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family members.
