Clariece Hines Ussery

View Video Tribute Mrs. Clariece Hines Ussery, 89, retired licensed practical nurse and resident of Crofton Park Court, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 12:00 noon at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Vaughan, Wendell Robinson and Glenn Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Graymere Church of Christ, 1320 Trotwood Ave., Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Cross Bridges she was the daughter of the late Robert Hines, Sr. and Rosa Belle Holt Hines. On July 31, 1943 she married James Ralph Ussery of Columbia who survives. She received her LPN training at Maury Regional Hospital. Mrs. Ussery was employed with Dr. Thomas Dake's office for 24 years. After retiring she volunteered at Maury Regional Medical Center and was a member of the Super Stars. She was a member of the Eastern Star and an active member of Graymere Church of Christ. In addition to her husband of nearly 72 years, survivors include her son, Tony (Gina) Ussery of Maryville; granddaughters, Alyssa Ussery and Savannah Ussery both of Maryville; nieces, Jo Waggoner, Carolyn Myatt, Martha Scott, Naomi Humphrey, Donna Tarkington, Betty Thomason, Sandy Dodd, Anita Williams, Dianne Hines Sowell, Patricia Duncan, Kay Woods; and nephews, Edward Lyles, Bobby Hines, J.P. Hines and Jerry Hines. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Ray, Laura Griffin, Mary Prince, Elizabeth Malugin, Edna Lyles, Louise O'Rear and brothers, Robert Hines, Jr., Powell Hines,Jim Polk Hines, Austin Hines; and by her beloved dog, Lucky. Active pallbearers will be Calvin Scott, Freddie Heinrich, Dr. Thomas Dake, Calvin Dodd, Bobby Hines, J.P. Hines, John Ussery, Kevin Scott, Larry Tarkington, Rodney Adams, Andy Thomason, John Sweeney, and Mike Sweeney.
