CLAUDE McDONALD Claude McDonald, 85, retired employee of Dairyman, Inc. in Lewisburg, farmer, and former employee of Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital.Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Curtis Dowdy and Brother Johnny Mack Young officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Maury County native was the son of the late John McDonald and Emma Mills McDonald. He was a member of Highland Church of Christ for forty-nine years. Mr. McDonald was a 50+-year member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge #31 and was a former member of the Columbia Rotary Club where he had received the Paul Harris Fellow Award and two plaques for service above self. Survivors include his wife of sixty-eight years, Norel Ussery McDonald of Columbia; one great niece and her husband, Joyce and Ralph Williams of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ralph & Clarice Ussery and Kathleen Davis, all of Columbia; Dorothy Biggs of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Tony Ussery, Ralph Williams, David Williams, Friddie Heinrich, Ron Allison, Matt Sowell, Cam Anderson, and Billy Stanfill. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Hurt, Floyd Pinkleton, Charlie Hood, Bill Elliott, J. B. Goldman, Travis Jett, Tom Brown, Dudley Chumley, Charles Brewer, Joe Tom Modrall, Cecil Warren, Newt Howell, Jr., James Stofel, Dr. Belinda K.
