Clifford M Jones

Mr. Clifford M. Jones, 84, retired owner of City Market in Mt. Pleasant and resident of Florida Avenue, died Monday, October 1, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with J. C. Holt, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Jim and Maude Love Jones and a member of the United Methodist Church. Survivors include a brother, Frank L. Jones of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Arlene (Owen) Wells and Mary Elise (Glynn) Anderson, both of Columbia; and special friend, Mildred Bradford of Bon Aqua. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lela Hinson, Eva Witherspoon, and Rachel Jones; and four brothers, Howard Jones, Chester Herbert Jones, Luther Porter "Bill" Jones, and Ewell Jones. Pallbearers are Tracy Jones, Frank Jones, Jr., James Jones, Mark Jones, Billy Wells, Ricky Jones, Doug Wells, and W. C. "Wimpy" Jones.
