CLYDE EDWARD LENTZ Clyde Edward Lentz, 64, resident of New Lewisburg Highway, died Thursday, August 28, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Everett Campbell and Jim Cox officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday after 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Virgil Lentz and Gladys Wiley Lentz. He was a 1957 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served one year in the National Guard and four years in the U. S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. John S. McCain Destroyer Leader. Mr. Lentz retired in January 1999 from Zeneca Corporation after twenty-five years service. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ and enjoyed Correspondence Mission Bible Study. Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Charlotte Brooks Lentz of Columbia; one daughter and her fiancé, Tammy Gray and Johnny Stephens of Hohenwald; two sisters, Fay (Ray) O'Neal of Summertown; Shirley (Chuck) Evitts of Houston, Texas; one grandson, Nathan Gray of Hohenwald; special friend and hunting companion, Marshall "Marcel" Webster of Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Greg Lentz in 1989. Pallbearers will be Carl Moore, Dean Moore, Joey Scott, Troy Parks, Tommy Parks, and Billy O'Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be men of Smyrna Church of Christ, past and present employees of Zeneca, and the many friends that touched his life as he touched theirs.
