Clyde Watkins Mr. Clyde Hart Watkins, 67, retired employee of Haulers Insurance, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at his residence on Mariner Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Hughes and Rev. Jeff Jacob officiating. Burial will be in Old Orchard Cemetery in the Petersburg Community in Lincoln County. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at the church. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 222 West Seventh Street, Columbia, Tennessee 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Marshall County native was the son of the late Fred H. Watkins and Frances Ketchum Watkins. He was a graduate of Petersburg High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Vanderbilt University in 1960. He was formerly employed for twenty-two years at State Farm Insurance. Mr. Watkins was former President of the Columbia Girls' Fast Pitch Softball. He was a former member of Columbia Lions Club and a member of Columbia Elks Lodge and First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Mary Elizabeth Henderson Watkins of Columbia; two daughters, Nancy (Will) Harris of Columbia; Beth (Jim) Fullerton of Lewisburg; four grandchildren, Stephanie Harris and Laura Leigh Harris, both of Columbia; Sydney Fullerton and Maris Fullerton, both of Lewisburg; two sisters, Martha Watkins of Petersburg; Ruby (Bill) Sullivan of Shelbyville; one uncle, Paul Ketchum of Cornersville; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ty Sullivan, Kelly Rollins, Bill Sullivan, Charles Cunningham, David Cunningham, Warren Davis, Ken Cathey, and Wayne Hartsfield. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Haulers Insurance, Men's Breakfast Eaters at Kathy's Restaurant, James H. Walker, Edwin Scott, Larry Fullerton, Dr. Stanley Bernard, Dr. James Kelley, Ed Lawwell, and Barry Brooks.
