Clyde L Westmoreland Sr

Mr. Clyde Lee Westmoreland, Sr., 72, retired owner of Maury Optical and resident of Cheyenne Trail, died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Adair and Rev. Steve Robertson officiating. Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Highland Park Baptist Church, 1800 Highland Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401; or First Church of the Nazarene, 1100 S. The Davidson County native was the son of the late Robert Lee Westmoreland and Blanche Knott Westmoreland. He served in the United States Army from 1959 until 1965. Mr. Westmoreland was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Barbara Aaron Westmoreland of Columbia; two sons, Clyde Lee (Ramona) Westmoreland, Jr. and Kevin Ray Westmoreland both of Columbia; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Westmoreland and Kaleb Westmoreland both of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Jerry Westmoreland, Ken Westmoreland, Billy Steele, Stan Farris, Sr., Darren Bobo and Carl Goad. Honorary pallbearers will be coffee friends at McDonald's and Hardee's on the Bear Creek Pike.
