Connie Lynn Goodwin

Connie Lynn Goodwin, 45, resident of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, died Monday, August 20, 2007 of respiratory failure in Winter Park, Florida. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Robert McIlwian officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Maury County native was a 1980 graduate of Columbia Central High School and Columbia State Community College. Before moving to Florida, she was employed by K-Mart Stores as a department manager for 13 years in Columbia, Madison, and Hendersonville. At the time of her death, she was employed by The Islander Beach Resort in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She was the daughter of Anne Lindsey Goodwin Baker of Leoma and the late Robert L. Baker and Gary L. and Donna Goodwin of Columbia. Other survivors include a sister, Bethany Anne (Ricky) Sewell; very special niece, Lindsey Michelle Sewell; step-brother, Robert (Sarah) Lake; step-nieces and step-nephew, Samantha Lake, Malora Lake, Stephanie Sewell, and Nathan Lake; aunts and uncles, Sue (Vernon) Cook of Milton; Lib (Willard) Temes and Frank (Lois) Lindsey of Columbia, and the late James (Nancy) Lindsey. Active pallbearers are David Temes, Butch Temes, Mark Stinnett, Alan Lindsey, Vernon Cook, and Randy Wright. Honorary pallbearers include Martha Helm Redding and Mike Redding, Dr. and Mrs. Harry C. Helm, employees of The Islander Beach Resort, employees of Maury County government, John Solotero, and Antonio Langevin.
