Mrs. Cora Dee Mayberry Gray, 76, died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at her residence on Woodmont Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Elmer Lusk, Joe Macer, and Mark Jamieson officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Eastside Church of Christ Building Fund, 1024 East Valley Drive, Columbia 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent towww.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late Walter David Mayberry, Sr. and Edith Pauline Chessor Mayberry. She was a long-time member of Eastside Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Talmas L. Gray, Sr. of Columbia; a daughter, Teresa Gray Robinson of Columbia; a son, Talmas L. "Lee" Gray, Jr. of Columbia; two sisters, Martha Ann Mayberry of Hohenwald and Edith Louise Jones of Centerville; three brothers, Walter David Mayberry, Jr. of Taylor, Michigan, Glenn D. Mayberry of Garland, Texas, and Wayne Mayberry of Columbia; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Gray Bowling and a son, Jeffrey Alan Gray, and a brother, Sammie Morris Mayberry. Active pallbearers are grandsons, Cole Bowling, Sam Gray, Dakota Gray, Jeremy Gray, nephew, Mike Gray, and long-time friend, Joe Pipkin. Honorary pallbearers include the staffs of NHC Home Health and Hospice of the Highland Rim that loved and cared for her and Christian brothers and sisters of Eastside Church of Christ.
