Cora Roberts

Mrs. Cora Beatrice Franks Roberts, 91, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at her residence on Pickens Lane. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Lawrence County native was the daughter of the late Robert Franks and Eva McMasters Franks. She was married to Andrew Paul Roberts who preceded her in death November 8, 1990. She was a former waitress at Dixie Maid and later worked for Reynolds Drug Store. Mrs. Roberts was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Polly Jett and Verna Farris both of Columbia; one sister, Ella Lester of Nashville; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Anglin in 1986. Pallbearers will be Tristan McCracken, Michael Jett, Kenneth Jett, Brandon Curry, Matt Curry, Jeremy Chapman and Bobby Mangrum.
