Curtis Goodwin Mr. William Curtis Goodwin, 82, retired employee of CPS and resident of Gene Fitzgerald Road, died Thursday, March 25, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Donald Dark officiating. Burial will be in West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Coleman Goodwin and Lottie Howell Goodwin. He served in the 101st Airborne during World War II and was a member of West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Mable Murphy Goodwin of Columbia; two sons, Willis C. Goodwin, Vernon M. (Linda) Goodwin both of Columbia; one sister, Frances Hedrick of Columbia; five grandchildren, Chris (Brandy) Goodwin, Keith Goodwin, Beverly (Michael) Hill, Brian (Robin) Goodwin, Rachel Goodwin; eight great-grandchildren, Cody Goodwin, Jacob Hill, Zack Gafford, Braden Goodwin, Kaleigh Goodwin, Shelby Morgan, Tad Goodwin, Mitchell Goodwin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ewell Goodwin, Claudie Goodwin, Clyde Goodwin, Milton Goodwin and two sisters, Lillian Ferguson and Erlene Gray. Pallbearers will be Chris Goodwin, Keith Goodwin, Brian Goodwin, Willard Murphy, Leslie Murphy, J.W. Murphy, Walton Murphy and Eugene Murphy.
