Dan G Farmer

Rev. Dan G. Farmer, 70, retired Baptist minister and former Columbia resident, died Monday, July 31, 2006 at his residence in Greenbrier. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Greenbrier with Rev. Jack Evans and Rev. D. William Dodson officiating. Burial will be in Greenbrier Cemetery. Gordon Farmer, Caleb Farmer, Christopher Farmer, Daniel Farmer, Tim Gregory, Lee Watts, Chris Perry, Joe Seigenthaler, Larry Link and Bob Orr will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church. Born in Kingston, Tennessee, he was the son of the late John Gideon Farmer and Magdalena Harvey Farmer, long-time Columbia residents. He served as pastor to a number of Baptist congreagations in Tennessee over the years and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ellen Davidson Farmer of Greenbrier; sons, David (Deborah) Farmer of Madison, Bruce (Michelle) Farmer and Mark (Regina) Farmer, both of Greenbrier; brother, Gary Farmer of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; sisters, Lois Farmer Williams of Franklin, Trula Farmer Surles of Columbia, and Harriet Farmer Eddleman of Red Wing, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Farmer Church and two brothers, Gideon Farmer and Glenn Farmer.
