Dana Lee Chapman Farris, 89, retired Unit Secretary at Maury County Hospital and former longtime resident of Booker Farm Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 3:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Hospice Compassus, 1412 Trotwood Ave # 5, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Cove Lee Chapman and the late Edna Ethel Cross Chapman. On July 17, 1943, she married George Luther Farris and they shared sixty-six years together before his death on October 31, 2009. Mrs. Farris enjoyed flower gardening, feeding and watching birds. She was a member of Cedar Hill Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Georgene (Jere) Brinkley of Murfreesboro, Marlin (Michael) McGrew of Franklin, Lynn (Bobby) Andrews of Columbia; daughter-in-law, Brenda Farris of Hampshire; grandchildren, Tamara (Lex) Price, Michelle (Matt) Jenkins, Matthew (Carin) Wade, Nick (Melissa) Andrews, Rebecca Andrews, Perry Farris, Andrew (Kayla) Lemay, Hunter (Chelsey) Lemay; great grandchildren, Danielle Mercer, Landry Jenkins, Luke Jenkins, Macy Andrews, Walker Andrews, Diesel Wade, Maya Guanxin Price; and sister-in-law, Gloria Chapman. She was preceded in death by a son, Phil Farris; sister, Okileen Dorak; and two brothers, Rebon Chapman and Rabon Chapman. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
