View Video Tribute Dave Gordon Coleman, Sr., 85, self-employed mechanic and resident of Columbia, died Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Macer and Drew Love officiating. Burial will follow in Harvey Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born July 31, 1936 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Wesley Alexander Coleman and the late Effie Mae Brown. Mr. Coleman served in the United States Air Force. He loved spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren, and enjoyed NASCAR. Mr. Coleman was a member of South Gate church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Holder Coleman of Columbia; son, Dave Gordon (Diann Marie) Coleman, Jr. of Culleoka; daughter, Christie (Ronnie) Skelley of Columbia; granddaughter, Allison (Drew) Love; great grandchildren, Rylen Love, Chloe Love, Redding Love; and brother, James Coleman of California. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lola Smith, Lottie Mae McCall, Betty Fontaine; and brother, Thomas Coleman. Active pallbearers will be George Runions, Seth Lasiter, Ronnie Skelley, Drew Love, Jason Kelley, Jody Williams, Johnny Massey, and Michael Runions.
